Industrial production in Uzbekistan decreased by 5.4%
Industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan produced 104.2 trillion sum ($10.3 billion) in January-April 2020, which is 5.4% less than in the same period in 2019. This was reported in the State Committee of the Republic. Manufacturing enterprises account for 78.4% of total output. The decline in mining production decreased by 18.3%, to 12.7 trillion sum ($1.26 billion). Power generation, gas and steam supply rose by 5.5%, to 9.1 trillion sums ($899 million). Coal production increased by 19.1%, crushed stone by 17.6%, oil by 0.6%, natural gas decreased by 15.9%. According to the news agency, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development predicts GDP growth of Uzbekistan by 1.5% according to the results of 2020.
