Two-thirds of Italian mothers cannot work with distance learning of children

65% of Italian mothers consider it impossible to work with distance learning of children, these are the results of a study by the University of Milano-Bicocca, Adnkronos reports on Thursday, August 6. 7,000 mothers were interviewed to prepare the study. In distance learning, there are certain advantages, respondents recognized, the most important of them are the ability of parents to know exactly how education goes, as well as children's mastery of new technologies. The main disadvantages of distance learning, according to respondents, are the lack of communication with teachers and classmates, too many homework, difficulties in planning loads for the day. Italian students were transferred to distance learning in March-May 2020, during a nationwide quarantine. The academic year is due to resume in Italy on September 14. It is assumed that the classes will be held in normal (full-time) mode with some additional sanitary safety measures.
