Three Russian citizens detained in Thailand for illegal entry

Three of the seven crew members of the Russian sports sailing yacht Uminoko, which was stuck in the port of the Thai island of Phuket on March 25 due to the coronavirus pandemic, were detained by the country's immigration police for illegally going ashore and entering Thailand. This was announced on June 18 by the captain of the ship Vitaly Plaksin, RIA Novosti quoted him as saying. Three members of our crew were detained by the immigration police on charges of violating Thai immigration law, illegal entry into the country, the captain said. He also said that the court hearing in the case of detained Russian citizens is scheduled for June 18. In addition, it is known that the Russian Embassy in Thailand is assisting in this case and has already sent an appeal to the country's authorities for assistance in this matter. At the same time, it is known that detainees can be fined and sent to Russia, as well as blacklisted people who are forbidden to visit the country. Note, as the news agency reported, on June 17 it became known that Stanislav Lisov, a Russian citizen who had served his term in an American prison, convicted of cyber fraud, flew to his homeland on an export flight from New York.
