Albania tightens border crossing with Greece

On August 13, the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that for all citizens of the country, including those traveling by car, the allowed time for crossing the border with Greece at the Kakavia and Kapštitsa checkpoints will be limited from 22 to 6 in the morning. At the same time, parking on the border territory and near customs will be stopped by the police. According to the Albanian news agency Telegrafi, from August 16, citizens will have to spend seven days in quarantine. Entry into Greece from the territory of Albania will be allowed only to Greek citizens, Albanians and foreign citizens who have permission to stay in Greek territory. Citizens of the EU and citizens of Albania who have permission to stay in the EU states, as well as citizens of third countries, are not allowed to travel to the territory of Greece through the Albanian checkpoints Kakavia and Kapštitsa. Recall, on August 14, new restrictive measures were introduced in Greece aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus.
