Sales of new cars in France decreased by 19.8%


At the end of August 2020, sales of new cars in France decreased by 19.8%, to 103,631 copies. This was reported in the French Chamber of Commerce (CCFA). The negative result of auto sales in France was recorded after two months of growth. In total, from January to August 2020, 998,409 copies of new cars were bought here. This is almost a third (32%) less than a year ago for the same period. According to the CCFA, the leader of the French car market last month was the Peugeot brand. Its car dealers managed to sell in the amount of 18,997 units. This is 3.5% less than a year ago. In second place were Renault cars. Their French motorists purchased in the amount of 14,158 copies (-24.4%). Next on the list are: Citroen (11,190 units; 13,3%), Dacia (7538; 6.4%) and Toyota (6945 units; + 2.4%). Recall that in August 2020, the Fiat 500 (1174 units) became the best-selling new model in the segment of cars in Lithuania. See also: Car sales in Russia in August decreased by 0.5%
